Herb Walks

£8.00

Duration: 1.5  – 2.5 hours

Come and join me for a herb walk to find out about the rich and varied healing plants in our hedgerows and green spaces. We will take a gentle stroll and find at least a dozen medicinal herbs. I’ll show you how to recognise, identify and name them. We’ll talk about how these herbs were used for medicine in days gone by and how, thanks to ancient knowledge and scientific research, they are still used today. You’ll learn which parts of the plants to harvest and how to do this sustainably.

Description

On previous walks we have found nettle, plantain, hawthorn, horsetail, red clover, ground ivy, mullein, dog rose, agrimony, elder, yarrow and many more! After the walk there will be an opportunity to taste some medicinal teas.

The walks will take place in and around Falmouth, including The Walled Garden at Falmouth University and by the Helford River. The group will be a maximum of eight people and we’ll walk at a gentle pace so you’ll have plenty of time to chat, ask questions and make new friends. The walk will go ahead whatever the weather so come prepared. There may be steps and uneven ground so wear suitable footwear.
