Herb Walks
£12.00
Duration: 2 hours
Come and join me for a high summer walk to find the rich and varied healing plants in our hedgerows and green spaces. We will take a gentle stroll and find at least a dozen medicinal herbs. I’ll show you how to recognise, identify and name them. We’ll talk about how these herbs were used for medicine in days gone by and how, thanks to both ancient knowledge and scientific research, they are still used for healing today. You’ll learn which parts of the plants to harvest and how to do this sustainably. There will be an opportunity to taste some plant medicine.
Description
Come walk with me and discover wild medicine. We will find nettle, plantain, hawthorn, elder, yarrow, red clover and ground ivy. Maybe also mullein, dog rose, agrimony, horsetail, dock and many more! After the walk there will be an opportunity to taste some medicinal teas.
The walks will take place in and around Falmouth, including The Walled Garden at Falmouth University and by the Helford River. The group will be a maximum of eight people and we’ll walk at a gentle pace so you’ll have plenty of time to chat, ask questions and make new friends. The walk will go ahead whatever the weather, so come prepared. There may be steps and uneven ground so wear suitable footwear.
